The mission of AISE is to support cooperation and best practices in research, education, and clinical interventions among physicians, researchers, and allied health providers (e.g., nutritionists, orthotists, prosthetists, and therapists). AISE focuses on limb salvage for diabetic limbs as well as for trauma, tumors, and peripheral artery disease.

Diabetic Limb Salvage (DLS):
The DLS is a multidisciplinary team approach meeting that provides healthcare professionals with the education and resources needed to heal wounds and prevent amputations. Established over 10 years ago, it features a prominent international faculty promoting the importance of a multispecialty approach to limb salvage. The program emphasizes evidence-based practices, practical takeaways, techniques, and functional outcomes.-
The meeting format includes didactic lectures, specialty symposia, and video surgical case demonstrations, offering an interactive learning experience.

The ADFS Board was established in Rheine, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany, on 5 July 2014, with the following members:-

The society was officially inaugurated during the first ADFS symposium at the IWGDF (International Working Group on Diabetic Foot) Meeting held in The Hague, May 2015.
AISE Activities and Goals
AISE organizes conferences and meetings to promote knowledge sharing and experiences in the field of limb salvage surgery for trauma, tumors, peripheral artery disease, and diabetic foot complications.
The ultimate aim is to elevate the capabilities of multidisciplinary teams, achieving high rates of limb salvage for patients suffering from complications associated with diabetic foot disease, trauma, tumors, and peripheral artery disease.
