Beijing International Conference on Wounds and Diabetic Foot, 2024
The 2024 Beijing International Conference on Wounds and Diabetic Foot, hosted by the International Association of Lower Limb Salvage, was held in Beijing from November 29 to December 1, 2024. This grand event brought together over a hundred top experts and scholars, with a cumulative attendance of nearly a thousand people on-site and over 100,000 participants online, all focusing on comprehensive strategies for the prevention and treatment of diabetic foot. They contributed their wisdom and strength to advancing the development of this field.
The opening ceremony of the conference commenced promptly at 8 a.m. on November 30th. Qian Zhang, the president of Beijing Shijitan Hospital, affiliated with Capital Medical University, Jiangning Wang , representing the host institution, Yongpeng Han, president of Beijing Hospital of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine, and Rui Chen, the vice president of Capital Medical University, all delivered enthusiastic opening speeches. They warmly welcomed the guests from afar and expressed heartfelt thanks, sharing the remarkable achievements made by the hospital in the field of diabetic foot prevention and treatment, as well as their future development plans.
The agenda for this conference is very rich, covering important areas such as basic research on diabetic foot, imaging diagnosis, infection control, as well as nutrition, rehabilitation, and new technologies. The entire conference is divided into multiple sessions, each of which features exciting academic presentations. These presentations not only showcase the latest research findings but also delve into cutting-edge issues in related fields. In addition, each presentation is followed by an in-depth discussion session, giving participants the opportunity to engage in face-to-face exchanges with the presenters, to discuss and solve practical problems together. This meeting has specially arranged a roundtable session on diabetic foot, where participants engaged in lively discussions on how to enhance the social and economic benefits of diabetic foot treatment, increase social recognition, and proposed numerous constructive opinions.
